Game should be using your highest refresh rate by default unless you have it set not to in your NVidia control panel. In steam, right click left 4 dead 2, properties, set launch options. Type “-refresh 144” or whatever you want it to be. I have my monitor refresh rate forced to 77hz and in nvidia profile inspector set to highest available
Network settings, visuals, crosshair, etc I tried with "-autoconfig" but it doesn't work at all, it only resets some settings. I would like to leave everything as default as if I never changed any advanced settings. Edit: Now I've tried to delete "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\\550\local\cfg\" and disabled Steam Cloud
The Mutation System just got better! This release of Left4Dead2 features a vastly improved system for authoring game Mutations. We call it the Expanded Mutation System (EMS). The previous version of the Mutation system allowed users to create new Mutations by making minor alterations to existing game rules and Director variables.
I'm a fellow user of custom Sweetfx_settings for a long time, and I'd like to use reShade as I heard it has addition shaders (depth of field, ambient occlusion etc). So I removed all sweetfx related file in order to prevent conflict. Then I went to the reshade website, downloaded the reshade2.01f4 zip, extracted it. I launched the reshade Assistant, made profile, preset and checked a few stuff
Try to check properties of "config.cfg" & "video.txt" files. if the "Read Only" is checked, uncheck it. Originally posted by vigde: There is one odd issue if L4D2 crashes; where the fullscreen and windowed mode seem to switch back to each other (and that affects the gamma to windows OS or the setting in-game).
Figured it out. You have to make sure steam cloud is disabled both in the L4D2 library properties as well as disabling it in the game itself. Then you have to go into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\cfg folder, delete config.cfg, and then relaunch the game. Flameways777.
Disable Steam Cloud on steam. Settings > Cloud > uncheck the Enable steam cloud. Disable Steam Cloud on Left 4 Dead 2. Options > Steam Cloud > disable it. Delete the CFG folder then verify integrity of game files. When its done, test it out on the game if it using the default settings, enable steam cloud on left4dead 2 and steam so it will let
I just use. -sw -novid -nojoy -console -verbose -lv -threads 4. Make sure you put -left4dead2 in your launch options. It tends to give a terrible experience if you don't.
